"Escorting the Harriet Lane"
16x20"
Pastel Painting

One in a series of nine paintings and drawings
on the United States Coast Guard in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, from the artist's deployment,
May, 2002.

Departing Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the USCGC Harriet Lane is given an escort by PSU 305 as far as the famous GTMO Lighthouse. The 270' cutter and the 25' Boston Whaler were on patrol in the area, as added security since the U.S. began using GTMO as a holding area for the Afghan
al-Qaida and Taliban detainees. (May, 2002)

Artist's gift to the Coast Guard Art Program
(COGAP) Collection 2003
